We thoroughly enjoyed our interaction with the builder, Brad B. He was very helpful and always made sure we got what we wanted out of the house, making sure things were up to par. Our experience would not have been the same without him being so good. He needs a raise! As far as the rest of our experience, it was decent. Our experience at the time of home building seemed great, that we were getting all that we wanted and weren't being gipped on anything. After closing and being in the home for a while and talking to neighbors / just being in the home and understanding more of the process of building a home from scratch, we found that we could have done things differently and asked more questions. Wish we had asked for a FULL list of possible upgrades. As well as ask if the salesperson did any extra deals (after finding out that one neighbor got a typical deal from them, but us and others did not). So it was frustrating after realizing our house could have been a little better / cheaper after the fact, but nothing to make us want to sell the place. Just wish we were more aware of our homes possibilities. When building a new home --- ASK QUESTIONS. Google what you should ask and make sure to get all the perks you can. See what the salesperson can offer you as their own personal offer. And know what ALL of the upgrades are you can add in the home. Don't just let the salesperson tell you what the main ones are. We found so many things we wished we would have added, but since we didn't know they were options, we never asked for them. AND. When doing walk throughs at the end, get on your hands and knee! Check every corner. We have found so many places that weren't painted, were knicked, or just weren't finished just right. So be sure to take time and check it all out. Otherwise it will come to you to fix. ... More

Very satisfied with the whole process of building a new home with Bloomfield. This is my second home I've built and I was already familiar with the building process but Bloomfield made it easier by being there every step of the way by addressing any concerns we may have had and correcting any issues that came up during the process... Our experience began spectacular and as we progressed through our 1st time building a home; with high excitement level there were a few misinterpreted customization liberty's between us the buyer, sales office and builders preference as we got close to the end of the build. After a few emails and face to face meeting we were able to come to a happy median. Well worth the delays and the periodic detailed conversation for understanding, the only improvements would be more detail explanation on what new buyers can do and cant do during the construction period. Best Regards. ... More

We are still hoping for the overall good experience with purchasing Bloomfield Homes and are hoping this works out. During our initial purchase we had zero problems with the sales person, Bill, we had a contract with a home but another house in the same community with a model we wanted cancelled, so we went with the other house still with Bloomfield that was 90% completed. When we got closer to closing, the sales person threatened to cancel the home on us because we weren't going with the loan company he recommended. He and the loan company were calling me non-stop to tell me how bad our bank was and we should go with his recommended lender. It took me writing Bloomfield corporate office to get him off our back so we could close the home without that undue stress and threat. The corporate office didn't care who we went with, it was only the sales person. Our first experience since moving in, the dishwasher wasn't connected properly so it leaked, flooded and warped our hardwood floors within the first two weeks. The builder for our community, Jason, has been great and making us feel better with the issues we have had. At no cost to us, he had the dishwasher installed properly, the floors were torn out and re-installed. It was a nuisance because we had the floors torn up for over a week when we are trying to move in, but at least it was done and it looks good. We found 4 windows that significantly leak when it rains, again Jason is working to get them fixed. They aren't fixed yet but Jason has been good with contacting us and getting people in. Our air conditioning wasn't working and Jason got the A/C people to come by, they realized the equipment was installed properly but the breakers on the units had it turned off which is why it wasn’t working. So we went a few weeks with no A/C. Again a nuisance but was fixed before summer, but I feel this could have been figured out with a builder check list. For future buyers, we feel Bloomfield is a good home, good quality and good value. We love the design, the look, the lot and even though we've had some issues, we are happy. Future buyers need to pay attention close when signing paperwork because we realized the sales person in our area is bad and paying attention to detail and poor with paperwork. If you point something out, he gets visibly frustrated. He's super friendly if everything goes his way and you go off his recommendations, which is why we went into our original contract with them but we had to have him re-write our contract 5 times before we signed anything because each time he would forget something that we talked about. Then again, add in him threatening to cancel our contract just because we went with a different lender that was giving us a better rate and pay much less in closing costs. Again it is important to note Bloomfield doesn't care who we went with, it was just the sales rep. My wife and I almost walked but we thought, this is just a sales rep and years later we won’t remember his name what’s more important is Bloomfield has a good reputation with quality homes so we would deal with him to get the house we’ve always wanted. I would highly recommend Bloomfield Homes. We’ve done a lot of research with finding a builder in this area and their homes are gorgeous, great lots, we love their designs and they do have a great reputation for building a good quality home. We have had some initial issues but they have done a great job with addressing them immediately and following up to make sure we feel good about it. In a year or two we will forget all about dealing with their sales rep, what we’ll care about is being in love with the home. If you asked me to rate the sales process, it would be a 1. But overall I would give Bloomfield a 4 or 5 stars because in the end their homes are great. Finding the right home for my family is more important than a couple of hiccups in the process. ... More

We purchased a ready move in "Carolina" Bloomfield home at Lakeview Estates in Anna, TX. The home was beautiful with it's gorgeous wood flooring. The three car garage was a bonus as we needed a little extra room to house our Harley Davidson. We've been in the home now a little over three months with minor issues which were quickly addressed. If your are putting in wood floors ensure there are no gaps and clean from scuffs during your walk through. Check all sheet rock work and caulking, we missed some need fixes upfront. You have a year for warranty work, you will probably miss things during your walk through due to the excitement of being in the community. However, it should be done right the first time. ... More

I am happy with my new house, One thing I would like to mention here that the sales manager or construction manager should spend more time with the buyer to explain all items in the house to avoid extra costs to the buyer in case if the buyer wants to modify or change something in the house after closing...Many buyers are not professional in house construction and design. Best quality, fit and finish compared to other local builders. Our family is one that moves frequently and have experienced many issues with relocation company inspections and home condition requirements. Had relocation company inspect home. Several of the exceptions found by them were not code violations, however none-the-less, they would be expected of me to remedy at my expense upon the sale of the home with my next move. Bloomfield was reluctant to remedy these issues during final walkthrough. Not a del breaker, but it takes away from a top score/review. ... More

Inferior cabinets poor design with age may have major problems. Inferior dishwasher. House built on sloop which makes it difficult to use side yard access. There are two gates one on each side of house, but the air conditioning unit one one side of house prevents access to yard. Some electrical outlets placed wrong in bedrooms. Master bed room tub too small for a tall person. don't understand why they install base boards and door casings before floors. Then they put a lot of caulk under base boards. That look dosent look professional and unfinished. Why not put the floors down first then base boards and no caulk. I wouldn't mind working for them I would do my best to get these changes fixed right on each build. No problem at all with sales he was top notch and knew his product. Professionel all the time. ... Consider your experiences throughout the process, including the initial purchase, design and options selection, during the build, at final inspection, and during your final move-in: Spec home not much room for customizations How would you describe the quality and value of your new home? When we signed our purchase agreement we thought the home would be amazing but when we did our final inspection/walkthrough there were many cosmetic issues that I wouldn’t think would happen from a “quality” builder like Bloomfield. Which is usually indicative of poor subtractors. Since move in we’ve had issues with: extremely bumpy yard that had to be re-rolled, numerous electrical issues, a leaky sink(this was a manufactures error but still), a drawer that doesn’t work right ( still waiting on that subcontractor to allow house visits to repair.. we’ve been waiting 2 months so far) and a door that didn’t close properly. If and when this house is issue free it will be a great value, but until then i have my concerns. Think about your experience with the builder's team; did they do what they promised? Did they respond to you in a timely fashion? The builders team has been great and responsive to all issues that they are able to fix (still waiting on the drawer to be fixed). What would you most like potential home buyers to know about this builder? Great homes if issue free but incredible frustrating if there are issues that shouldn’t be there. ... More

If you decide to have Bloomfield to build your house make sure you continuously stay on top of the process because any hesitations can lead to something not going according to the plan of your home. I was supposed to have some recessed lights installed in my living room and because I took it for granted that they would install them, they did not get installed. I talked to the builder about it and they said it was nothing they could do about it because my ceiling was to high for them to go back and install the lights. In addition, the workers were urinating on the floor of my new home and I had to bring that to the project managers attention, but he acted like it was a every day occurrence so get it over it. My house turned out good, but I had to bird dog the builder until the end. If I had to do it all over again I would use another builder just because of all of what I went through to get the house built. ... More
