The team was great fron the sales, design, support, build quality, on field and the support team. This makes the process much less stressful than Otherwise. Want to particularly state that the field project lead was understanding and prompt about communicating. This made us feel at ease. At the time we began the building process we were able to select individual upgrades to help us age in place. We stayed away from other builders that used packages as a way to select and personalize the new homes. Overall very happy with Centex. The SmartHomes Salesman not so much. He is not honest, doesn't explain his product throughly and tried to price gouge us three times. The technicians should be selling this product as they are excellent. We will not recommend Smart Homes to anyone and will tell people not to use their products. Please is wonderful great environment with neighbors. Concerned about to dark at night time, not enough light to walk around. The response to resolve issues with the house not great. Need to follow up frequently to have my repairs done.

Great location in the RTP Area (North Carolina). Closing was delayed by 2 months, Building process was rushed. Fortunately the Field Manager Duane has been very helpful in addressing the issues.

We really enjoyed working with Michael our building manager and Chad our sales agent, great and knowledgeable folks. Overall high quality home with some slight material & workmanship concerns, as an example a roof leak in our first days in the house. Minimal and rather sickly looking landscaping plants and sod add to the lower rating on workmanship and materials. The sod laying was pretty bad. ... More

The sales team is amazing and spot on. The mortgage process was the easiest I've ever experienced. The actual move in was a bit bumpy, but the builder made everything right.

Everything is OK except landscaping. The landscaping contractor did a terrible job ! There are a lot of deep areas and many many of pot holes in the yard ! The whole neighborhood has the same issue ! Centex should send the landscaping team to redo what they did not perform right at the first time, people might sue Centex when they get hurt by stepping in these pot holes ! Building manager was exceptional, very responsive and professional. Building quality- some aspects were rushed. Painters were terrible. Communication has been faulty from the beginning. I moved in June 2020 and was told that a 30 day walkthrough and 11 month walkthrough would happen to fix issues, but the 30 day was and will not be done per the warranty dept. Low tier Whirlpool appliances specifically came as an incentive, but were not installed properly. For 1.5 months, despite numerous requests, no one came to attach the missing ventilation tube to the clothes dryer, indicating this was not an emergency. Finally, we were frustrated enough that we fixed it on our own dime. Not being able to safely and cleanly use a clothes dryer after move in is not an emergency? Additionally, any service personnel that came to the house had no idea what they were there to service; the plumber came 3 times because his team didn't review the prior visits and came unprepared all over again. The warranty dept has not proven it communicates at all with contractors. The most blaring issue is the lack of craftsmanship on this house with obvious hastily completed work. The amount of holes, cracks, bad or missing painting, and misaligned blinds and cabinets, and frayed carpet edges cut too short is innumerable. Additionally, the base and floor boards were poorly cut and installed and separated from the floor very shortly after move in causing ants to march in throughout kitchen and living room for days. This will be left unaddressed again and I was told by the warranty dept to pay a contractor to get it fixed even though the structural warranty should be applied. The blue tape I placed and photographes in most places in the final walkthrough before close was plainly removed without remediation. These issues still exist and are getting worse. The housing development is also not kept clean in public areas even though we are paying HOA dues. I will be unlikely to deal with this builder again. ... More
