It's a beautiful home, however, there are so many little issues that it's disappointing. It's a big investment and you would expect to have a quality product at the end. There is not a lot of pride taken to ensure that every trade completes quality work. My kitchen cabinets have paint left from either the painting of the cabinets or touch ups done after the fact, no one bother to clean these up. There are corners of the cabinet and door frames that are chipped. The tile floor that I paid so much for an upgrade, has sloppy finishes throughout. When the house was being built I noticed that the batch tub/shower were filled with water and eventually it was disgusting water. No one bothered to clean that out, I still find gunk coming out of the seams when I clean the tub. It's just disappointing to find these things when you pay so much for a new home. On the other hand I would like to say that Kristen is an amazing part of your team. She's kind and helpful throughout. James was also amazing and very easy to work with. You have a great team overall!! I just think more attention to detail would be appreciated by your customers. ... More

Houses are beautiful from a distance. After settling in, began discovering mulitiple workmanship and craftsmanship issues that weren't expected for a half a million dollar home. What's more, the company representative assigned to resolve our issues attempted to convince me that the defects we were finding were supposed to be that way. Improperly cut glass shower doors, warped or damaged flooring, paint and drywall putty stained carpets, and faulty track rollers on closet doors are among the defects discovered that took too long to correct or still pending resolution. The stained carpet is the one we don't have firm commitment on resolution. At half a million dollars, I didn't expect to move into a house with carpets stained during construction. And what's more I didn't expect to be told I needed to be the one responsible for cleaning. ... More

Century home is very poor in cleanliness. Doesn’t care about a finished product. They just build houses. No quality control at all.

Sales Experience was amazing with Anette, would love to work with her again and cant recommend her more. Our construction foreman was great, kept us up to date, took the time to answer lots of questions and did the best he could under the circumstances. The actual resulting house due to sub par subcontractors is the real negative overall. Trim, paint, drywall, tile, landscaping, etc. No pride in their work and a corner cut/rushed finished product. The warranty process has been ok so far but we are having them come back to do things that never should have had to be done in the first place. Uneven counters, bad trim, popping drywall corners, gaps in the tile grout, etc. Pure simple things that quality work would have covered. We won't use Century again and can't recommend them to others because of their poor choice in subcontractors. The "Process" of buying a home is great with them but the actual finished product is not the best due to the lack of quality subcontractors. (This seems to be a problem in the Denver area with several builders, where have all the good subs gone?) ... More

I'm new to the century communities although I do love my home, the layout and floor plan. I do like the quiet community . Materials used to make the home seem to be very cheap quality the paint is already rubbing off the corner of the walls. The drywall is already cracking and coming off. The salesman was very responsive to my questions and if he didn't know himself, he made sure to find out quickly. Unfortunately the builder wasn't as accommodating to our requests especially when our inspector noticed issues. Luckily we had our own inspection because it failed in almost every step of the way. We were able to get the major issues fixed but minor issues weren't taken into account. Also Inspire Home loans process is terrible and not worth the design credit. You need to improve that process/ communication because they made the process extremely difficult, especially when requesting documentation from us. Overall I wouldn't buy another Century home due to the building process but the quality of the home is good. ... More

After the closing you WILL be ignored. Beware of the person on the walkthrough. Do not let him rush you, check every last detail. Well to be honest, this is my second brand new house, and I wish I can have some of the things I have in the other one. Some of the materials are cheap, can’t say is bad constructed no issues there. Now for the flooring, cabinet, toilets, faucets (kitchen and bathroom) can be way better for the price we paid, not even included a ceiling fan, everything has to be an upgrade than when they come up a lot in price, the lots are so small that literally I can see my neighbors and talk to them and the way the do our back that is looking to the neighbors, no privacy there at all. Houses are very roomy, but I wish the pantry was bigger than what it is. But over all, is not bad a beautiful home with cheaper materials that in couple of year need to be replaced. ... More

When I moved in my house there was blue tape still all over the walls. My closet rods are not cut properly, and the caulking was not cleaned properly. There was scrap would in my backyard and the workers left nails and small pieces of wood in the yard. They acted as if they wanted my home to be perfect in every way and promised it to be cleaned properly and it was not. I was also promised a gift card for touch up paint. I still have yet to recieve that. The homes are beautiful and quality is great but they were very careless in making my home move in ready. I trusted them to ensure my house was ready and it was not. The office staff is wonderful though. Wendy was super helpful and we appriciate her helping us through the process. ... More

Plus: new house, lot of square footage. Minus: very small lot, very restrictive CC&Rs, relatively cheap details, such as low-grade carpet, laminate floors, no handles on cupboards, formica counter-tops in secondary bathrooms. Although overall, we love our home, some of the workmanship is spotty at best. We were not given all design options available to us. We still have foreign debris behind our home, along with dying trees. Some of the plaster and caulking is not aesthetically pleasing. HOA fesses are super high, but I don’t see much maintenance being done, besides grass cutting. There are no set parking spaces in the front of the homes, so people are parking wherever they want, in front of private homes. On a positive not there are some great aspects about the home like our tiles fireplace wall and the open floor plan. ... More

We love the house but there is just some issues with the way it was put together. The flooring isn’t the greatest and finishers should have definitely taken more time. The cement foundation isn’t flat, you can feel sink spots in the kitchen and by our front entrance way. Our carpet keeps lifting up, and strands of it keep coming off. It has already been stretched and we even chose upgraded carpet. The bathroom flooring was torn but was recently replaced and our master bath has water damage and is lifting up but I believe it is scheduled to be fixed. The doors don’t open properly and one of the doors even broke off of the hinge. Once again we love the house but there is just a lot of issues that need fixing ... More

I paid a fair price for my home and have a high level of trust and respect for Danielle and Jim, my sales people who went above and beyond. The design center was on point too. Most of the home was constructed well, and we visited every weekend to ensure it was. On the down side, several closings were rushed to make Q2 numbers. As a result, some finish work was rushed and there's no sense of urgency to fix things on the punch list from our final walk through or from our followup list provided to construction the week after moving in. That was three months ago. We've been patient, but it's time to re-submit things through the warranty website in the hopes of faster resolution. Also, I can not recommend financing through their lender, Inspire. Despite a nine-month lead time, they didn't start paying attention until 2-3 weeks before closing, making for a chaotic, delayed closing. ... More

We had a catastrophic landslide that washed away our side yard due to careless excavation on the lot next door. Accidents happen, but when it took over five weeks of asking, begging and finally threatening legal action, for them to replace the land our opinion of Century deminished greatly. The other thing that really irked us is our agent worked hard during the sales process. She deserved every dime of the commission on the $325K+ home but Century only paid commission on the base price of the house (around $260k) claiming they don't pay commission on options. I'm sorry, we paid for options along with the house...it was a really dirty way to do the deal, especially since they never mentioned it until she got the check at the closing table. Integrity is everything in business. To give credit where it is due, their service manager is their only saving grace. He has been attentive in fixing the punch list items and warranty issues. ...
