I love my new home but the post purchase and home delivery processes have been less than stellar. I expected better. The closing was nothing special, the delivery was "here are your keys - good luck", and the post delivery follow up has been almost non-existent. ... More

Interior walls not sturdy. Gaps between drywall and wall coverings of vents and electrical outlets and switches. Unwillingness to modify original plan to suit our specific needs unreasonable. Too concerned with quick building in order to satisfy monthy goals-they made sure we were closing by the end of the month, regardless of OUR schedule. Their schedule of closing greatly interfered with our schedule, which we had in place for over a year and could not change. VERY inconvenient for us!! ... More

This is the 6th new property for us. The most expensive, but not the best by far. The general design is only average. The guest bath and closet are really small, but they're needed because there really isn't room for two in the master bath and closet. There was only a single towel bar, so perhaps it's a home for one person. The shower has no comfort features. Curb appeal outweighs the actual product. It might be better not to ask for this feedback. ... More

The paint job inside is pathetic. My father was a builder and I worked for him. He would be immensely disappointed. The slightest marring or touching, the leaves a mark. They need better painters and more concerned with detail. We paid additional monies for a handicap roll in shower, this is FLOODING. We've advised them of such. It must be re done asap. Of course, due to this C o v i d all entry to home has ceased. The concrete garage entry has cement cracking on lip. The impact windows are scratched. The baseboards by shower were left non painted. Should have used tile or painted baseboard. There's a HUGE piece of missing drywall where kitchen cupboards were installed. There are numerous cosmetic details and a few structural issues needing attention. Paint that was sprayed on floor tiles. ... More

star-rating You have to be present during the building process. We found several mistakes that had to be corrected while the house was being build. Location of A/C vents, light pendants, electrical outlets. Windows in the wrong place during the block stage.

Good, solid hurricane proof house. There are very few standard options. You have to add a lot of upgraded options which are grossly overpriced. There is a mix of houses and townhomes in the community which has now changed to more townhomes than houses and less estate homes being built. Many homeowners are not happy about the builder changing the community plans. Ask the sales associates a lot of questions. They were very nice and helpful but didn't .disclose some important details about our lot. Overall, it's a very nice community ... More

First, I love my new home with just a couple of reservations. I'm a foody and love to cook but it is impossible to use the broiler without setting off the fire alarm. Why? Because my home, the Cascadia model, doesn't have a kitchen exhaust fan. Even with opening all of the windows, it is impossible to cook a steak without setting off the fire alarm. Second, DiVosta claims to be an energy efficient builder. The amount of water I waste getting hot water to the kitchen and the master bedroom is obscene. The water heater is in the garage and the water "pipes" are not insulated and run through the concrete slab. I prefer to wash my hands with hot water which takes about 2 minutes to deliver to the kitchen. After you get the hot water, if you wait 10 or 15 seconds and want hot water again you need to start the whole process over again. Again, I love the home in general but feel these issues will probably have me selling my new home in the very near future. ... More

Divosta has entered a "High End" market and has quite a ways to go to live up to its intended goal. Workmanship is acceptable but surely not high end. Work in progress has to continually be redone because the hired workman are insufficiently trained and hired on the basis of the least expensive wages they can get. This results in poor workmanship and frustration from a buyers perspective. You definitely get what you pay for. Certain materials are likewise a result of getting non-quality products and result in dissapointing customer satisfaction. Cost to buyer is way over the final product's result. ... More

Initial contact about problems was good. However, followup was generally poor. I am surprised about the superficial finishing and workmanship, Looks good but takes several weeks to find problems.

Because of the speed in constructing these houses simple things like inproper hanging of windows and doors and especially the lanai sliding glass doors the buyer suffers dealing with getting these things repaired whitch sometime takes a long time.

star-rating While I believe that the house is structurally sound the attention to detail and quality of workmanship is lacking significantly. The sloppiness in painting, caulking, installation of doors and windows, etc. is less than acceptable.

We were very excited during the building phase. There were some issues during the build but our sales agent stayed on top of them. We do believe it is a structurally sound home. But when we moved in and took a closer look, the workmanship regarding the finishing details was questionable. Our punch list has many items to be addressed. To name a few, the tile floors have cement, grout and paint dripped In several places, some of the doors would not close and lock properly, the painting and edge cutting was mediocre, one of the shower doors is not sealed so water leaks on the floor, some of the sheet rock around doors was not completed properly. We have to schedule many after build contractors to correct the issues. These contractors are hit or miss. We like the house and location, but overall, for the money we paid for this house, we expected a somewhat better result. ... More

Nicely built home in a great location. Our field manager has been very helpful. However, from the business end, DiVosta was very unpleasant to deal with. They refused to give us even one additional day to close on our home without charging extra, even though my wife had to work & we live far away. Our real estate broker who has been doing business in the area for 30 years, said that she had never encountered a firm less willing to accommodate their clients in all her experience & that she will never do business with them ever again. ...
