Our sales rep Kristi was great the entire process! After the initial purchase numerous employees along the building process, including the 30 day warranty procedure, were stubborn and argumentative. It seemed that some of them were more concerned with getting their job done quickly without being responsive to our issues. Biggest take away from buying experience the fit amd finish of the home was not up to par. For example after doing the blue tape walk, we noted a bunch of minor fixes that did not get fix, things like having flood light of centered, tile with grout cracking, Cabinets with more damage done after cabinet installation visit, having main drain to sewer broken causing the plumbing to back up. Having garage door spring with no tension so when you open and close it was heavy and came down fast. All problem got fix but for what the house cost the small things added up and did not make my experience 5 star transaction. On the positive side the floor plan is amazing and the home is beautiful just i was not happy with the build quality. ... More

We love our West Bay home, the only issue is the quality of the materials they used to not match our love for the home. We’ve had multiple drywall issues, painting issues, issues with the flooring, and the home was dirty when we moved in. For As much money as we spent at our home, we would’ve thought that they would’ve sent in a professional cleaning company to clean it prior to move-in. Most of the process was smooth, except for the very end at closing with the multiple issues we had to address. I highly recommend hiring an outside agency for Quality inspections, and hold off on closing until every issue is address. We unfortunately did not have that luxury. ... More

Not really a good experience, If you are a busy person I would not recommend this builder. All employees are very nice, but their policies and procedures are definitely not "service" oriented. The door bell, after 1 and half months of moved in, still does not work. I was told that there was going to be an inspection after 28 days of closing to make sure everything is running smoothly, it seems I have to be the one requesting the inspection. The lender, didn't really care of making sure if I was ok with the financing terms. Lastly, the pool company, although I speak 3 languages, told me to go and look for an Spanish pool schooling, Again no sense of what "service" means. I bought my previous house with Beazer an smaller company with their service 100% much better that Homes by West bay. ... More

I would like to give 5 stars, but as of now, I honestly cannot. Sod is mostly dead, that’s with an irrigation system and still no resolution of any sort, other than “we’ll have the sod guy look at it.” There are large areas that are completely dead and that’s no exaggeration. I like the ease of filing a warranty item and the quick response. I understand with all the COVID 19 stuff, but still waiting for answers. All I heard during the building process was look at the contract. Now all I have to go on verbal acknowledgment. I am happy that two sub contractors actually just got back to me today about correcting any issues on a future date. Yes, there were more items but I’m just keeping my fingers crossed they will get addressed and corrected. WestBay, I’ll gladly resubmit this review but.... Write everything down. When you do the walk through make sure EVERYTHING is marked with blue tape and on the report . Take your time when looking for things at the walk through. The house is nice and the builder assigned to my home was great. I feel he listened and tried to make up for a terrible upfront experience with sales. Sales lied and to me and I have the text messages to prove it. West Bay did nothing to make it right or even meet half way to try and make up for it. They simply said this is how it is. Ultimately they fired the salesperson that sold me my home but that does not resolve anything for me, only them. Don’t expect too much from the contractors to the actual outcome of the house. They don’t treat you any better than the other big named home builders. The 2/10 year coverage is very limited, so don’t rely on it. The best thing is the foundations and structures, so everything else is pushed aside and you don’t become a priority ... More

Make sure you get a Realtor. You need that middle man to go to bat for you when needed. This can be a great experience or a horrible experience.

Westbay positions it's marketing as a builder that listens to the customer and is high quality. When graded on these metrics, it is neither. The build quality is just the same as any other builder, lots of issues and poor workmanship. They lack attention to customers. We were ignored multiple times, even by the corporate office. These are just some major issues: Multiple empty beer bottles on the job site, Side of house hit by construction vehicle, design studio sold multiple items not available in the final production and advertised items that were not actually true, purchased items not installed until caught by owner, major placement mistakes of windows and coachlights, asked to sign documents prior to completion, low voltage wires not complete and done wrong. Rude construction manager (James) Worst of all, emails and voice-mail messages to corporate all ignored.
