Pulte is a solid builder. You need to stay engaged and make sure communication is clear. Would be great if they would be reasonable with design center pricing and options. We did very little during the process and had to spend nearly 20% of the purchase price to get a nice home. The quality of the home is great. It took a bit longer than we anticipated, but we are in and they made all the fixes we asked for and we are quite happy.

Slow response prior to and after purchase. Questions were sometimes ignored or took several weeks to hear back. Never heard from the field manager during the entire build.

This is our second new home through Pulte. So far, we have been happy with our purchase. Pulte does a good job building. The finish has left a few flaws, but we are certain Pulte will handle. The overall build of the home was good. The issue was in the response times to minor repairs. There was often a delay of a week or more for simple repairs like drywall fixes, painting touch-ups, etc. What REALLY makes me question Pulte is what we discovered in our house about a month after owning it. At the time we purchased the home, we didn't notice anything, however gradually over a month of ownership we noticed a growing persistent odor permeating from the ceiling. It got so bad that we had to do something about it! We thought at first it was mold but after 5 days of waiting and investigations, I was discovered that there was a DEAD CAT that had bodily fluids all over the ceiling rotting above one of our rooms! Needless to say, we have been out of our house living in a hotel for about a week while remediation takes place. Pulte has not offered any compensation for our trouble and has not considered the amount of work I had to miss to manage this process. First, we love the location and the house as a whole. The layout is great and the house has plenty of storage compared to our last home. We are completely satisfied with the products used to build the home such as the appliances, flooring, faucets, etc. That being said, we have had problems with the details of the finished product. Primarily details in craftsmanship such as flawed cabinets being installed and left as finished, cracked granite counter top, return flex duct in the attic not properly attached and sucking in hot attic air, just to name a few. All avoidable with attention to detail from the trades and construction managers but this seems to be a theme after to talking to several neighbors. Initially, responsiveness to issues was a problem but with our new construction manager the process has seemed to smooth out. On a side note, we moved in in late March of 2020 so COVID-19 has delayed anything being repaired but that is entirely understandable. ... More
