Pulte has been a good builder to work with overall. The seller Victoria was friendly however I think she could pay a bit more attention to detail when dealing with clients requests. Brittany from the design center was very helpful answering questions and providing suggestions for improvements throughout the house. Our house looks amazing at first glance, but we have noticed a lot of painting and workmanship issues. Mark has been very responsive to any repairs we have requested.

Disappointing that we had to pay almost $2000 for a light gray paint throughout the house instead of the standard white - and its MATTE paint! You have no choice in finish. Every little nick and fingerprint shows. Don’t waste your money - repaint yourself. We’ve talked to other owners who just leave paintbrush and paint can handy for retouches before anyone comes over. That is crazy. Stove damaged upon install - hard to believe no one knew! I tried to bake and flames burnt the flooring underneath the stove. Took over a week to get a new one. The painters are very sloppy - paint on glass doors, carpets, inside tub, etc. We have been in a month and still waiting to get it all cleaned up. Travis is great to work with and responsive but the whole process is slow and cumbersome. They did help get the CO reissued after it failed right before our closing so we could go ahead with movers and that was appreciated. Make sure you understand VERY clearly where your driveway and access will be. Many homes have storm drains at the base of the driveway which preclude you from getting in and out with ease. ... More

Overall, I love my new community and home. When I moved in there were minor issues that were addressed immediately. However, I do feel with the amount I paid for my new home, there shouldn’t be defects in the molding and doors and the painting that I paid extra for should have been done better. My experience with Pulte was as a first time buyer and the first time working with a builder. I had heard about being on your toes with builders but Pulte truly cared about my opinion and their perception the whole way through the process. From selecting the model, to the lot, to the interiors they constantly made sure I was comfortable. During the build process, I constantly received updates from the project manager along with pictures and had a standing invite to come see the house whenever I wanted. Again, all the while being constantly asked for my feedback. My only negative experience came from the Pulte title company which couldn't be bothered to communicate with me about my closing until the day before. Overall, I couldn't have been happier with my experience and would certainly recommend Pulte to friends and family. ... More

As with any construction there will be some issues. Pulte is very responsive.

We encountered a plumbing leak shortly after we moved in and the Field Manager got right after it to ensure the work was fixed quickly. the rest of the home is great. We love our new home.

Perform a thorough walk through before closing and clearly document any items requiring repair by Pulte.

Good experience in home buying process. Make sure you understand your lot and the grade.

The experience of building a townhome in Retreat on the Monon was ideal! Selection of materials is on site, and very nice quality, even the lower priced materials. The project manager was very approachable and clear on the explanations of the property. Our home was completed 2 months ahead of schedule!!! ... More

Pulte builds homes in a factory, but the fit and finish is done by local craftsmen. Some are very good, others are not as good. Fortunately, Pulte is very responsive to fix any issues, but the buyer must do the work of identifying and listing problems. An inspector is helpful to look for major faults, but things like painting errors require careful examination by the buyer. Do not blow that off!! ... More

Very well defined product and process. That said not a great deal of flexibility in offering and delivery which is fine if that is what you seek. They are good at what they do, and they do it again and again!

Pleased with Pulte Home

Tyler the job supervisor is great however the vendors are not. The appliance vendor is terrible. They set the refrigerator with shims instead of leveling t without telling anyone. Then they broke off a support leg without telling anyone. They came back and left the frig set 2 inches higher on one side than the other. Finally the came back with a new frig. They damaged the walls, railings and floor transition in the process. They got dirt and grease all over the doors, frig and cabinets without cleaning them up. Miserable vendor who should be fired. Quiet neighborhood, good quality homes for a decent price.

The staff was great and answered all questions in a prompt manner. In terms of construction, a few small issues. First, the laundry room door can’t be open (it swings in) while accessing the washer. Second, the washer and dryer doors open giants each each. So you have to pull the clothes out of the washer and go up and over the contacting doors. The doors should be on opposing sides so you can transfer directly. This is especially true if we pre-ordered the washer and dryer from Pulte. The water and electrical hookups are known, so the models can be selected based on that. Third, the bathroom accessories are installed well but do not seem very sturdy. Plus, the markup on them is absolutely insane. From what I’ve seen them sold for online, I would say 50-100x. Fourth, noticing paint where it shouldn’t be. Fifth, a few other installation matters/decisions associated with personalized selections left me a bit baffled and made those selections difficult to use. And yes, maybe I should have noticed during the walkthrough. But it’s tough to see stuff initially. And more difficult to see through sheetrock until you start to mount/install certain things. ... It was a good overall experience but they can improve in showcasing the interior selections on a computer. Sometimes looking at the small piece say a kitchen backsplash you don't get an idea how it will look. They could utilize virtual reality to show the selections made. ... More
